TANWEEN

TANWEEN FESTIVAL – KING ABDUL AZIZ CULTURAL CENTER, DHAHRAM, SAUDI ARABIA 2019

At this outstanding Saudi festival, we presented a large-scale musical show that captivated all ages, being suitable and enriching for entire families. Three of our giant puppets came to life as a family unit, where the father, Angel, wore a white thobe accompanied by an iconic traditional Arabic head piece. The mother, Euterpe, wore a black abaya with an imposing presence, while the son, Pedro, stood out in a green Tanween t-shirt. Through this magnificent staging, an everyday scene in the life of a Saudi home was portrayed, capturing the interactive dynamic between a father, a mother, and their child. The authenticity of Saudi culture was further amplified by the participation of a local band, who wove traditional tunes throughout the show. The experience was especially rewarding for the youngest attendees. This dazzling musical spectacle not only left an indelible mark on the hearts of those present, but also generated a local impact by capturing the attention of the media. Our performance resonated in the local newspapers, highlighting the magic and artistry we shared at the festival. This memorable event took place on two occasions: one unforgettable performance took place at Damman South Corniche, while the other was held at the distinguished King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture.
