THE OCEAN RACE

The inaugural event of “The Ocean Race 2023”, the exciting round-the-world race, came to life with a dazzling prologue by Carros de Foc in the city of Alicante. The central figure of this magnificent opening was our imposing giant puppet, Euterpe, an impressive 6 meters tall. Dressed in her spectacular diving attire, Euterpe toured the spaces of the Volvo Ocean Race, narrating with her presence the captivating story that surrounds her. Euterpe, a teenager from a distant planet, took on the customs and lifestyle of the place where she arrived. Her journey and adaptation were manifested through her presence and her story, creating an emotional bond with the audience. The closing of this enriching event was marked by the presentation of the masterpiece “Magic Stairs”, a story that emerged from the depths of the sea. Outstanding costumes encapsulated and humanized the mysterious marine world, while vertical acrobatics and acrobatic dances immersed the audience in an enveloping and enigmatic aquatic environment. This unique experience fused visual and artistic storytelling, immersing everyone in an ocean of emotions and wonder. The presence of Euterpe and the evocative performance of “Magic Stairs” left an indelible mark on the start of “The Ocean Race 2023”, leaving everyone in awe and eager for the journey ahead.
